No knocks on the door last night.
Christine and the kids played at the beach in the morning before 10am. Christine wanted to try a Garifuna dish of fish in coconut called hudutu at Innie's restaurant but we need to wait until it was open for lunch.
Water fill up in Belize is not at agua purification like Mexico, so I had to buy 5 gallon bottles and fill up with an external pump I had brought along for this purpose. It actually is pretty easy to do as long as there is a large enough parking area to do this. It was $9 usd for 15 gallons.
The hudutu was $12.50 usd. We also bought some groceries and fruits, replenishes our Oreos and bought some honey bunches of oats cereal. Prices were just a bit more than back home since this was all imported. Christine bought fruit from a gentleman that grows his own fruits, so it turns out I was wrong about all the fruit being imported.
Today's journey would take us to Riversdale, just 30 minutes down the coast because there was a small resort that allowed RV camping for $30 usd. Christine wasn't too thrilled with our boondocking the night before. The problem with the journey being so short was our batteries didn't have time to charge up hardly at all, so I had to run the engine for a couple hours if we wanted to use the AC at night.
Lost Reef resort is a gem of a place. It has a nice pool and the waters edge is nice. We camped under the sun to charge the batteries with our solar panels. We took advantage of the pool and the kids had homeschool by the pool.
The kids met a 5 year old that lived down the road and we shared pizza with him and his sister. An older Italian couple showed up in their 2000 Toyota Prado. They have been on the road part time since 2023. They have been in the Americas since 2018 and were headed north and we spent quite a bit of time exchanging information. They store the vehicle and fly back to Italy every year.
Dinner was pizza $15 and a slice key lime pie was $10.
