Halloween in Panama City

It rained all day today. We stayed mostly indoors at the mall all day. I had to go to Western Union to get a lot of cash out, more than an ATM limit. The Marriott amazingly had laundry machines for us to use so we did a couple loads of laundry ($5 each). Ellie wanted to get a haircut. I got sad. She got a haircut. Christine got invited to trick or treating at a gated community near the US embassy enclave for the kids and we had to buy some candy and get ready to Halloween. The mall we are at is massive and purportedly has 700 stores. The ones near the hotel are vacant but the rest of the mall is busy. It is adjoining a bus terminal as well.
The supermarket on our end of the mall didn't have a candy aisle like back home so I walked to the other end of the mall, half a mile away, and found a bag of hard candies usually in a pinata.
At 4 pm we took an Uber to the enclave for $4. There was a community club house where there was a party hosted for kids. The MC was too loud so the kids stayed outside and ate cookies and popcorn and pizza. It started raining and everyone left so we went into the clubhouse. this door said they did not celebrate Halloween so kids left candy for them.
After 30 minutes we went out to trick or treating. The kids had a great time and we ubered back to the mall and back to the hotel.
Tomorrow I will need to wake up early to go to get a police inspection for shipping to Cartagena.
