Honduras!

We spent the morning doing some homeschool and let the kids play on the beach (collect trash) for a couple hours before leaving for the border. We arrived at the border a little later than usual, around 1030 and avoided a "helper" and went to the aduana and waited for them to process my paperwork to cancel my Temporary vehicle importation permit. They also processed my tvip for Honduras for $33. There was some confusion on my part on where I should go and had to be redirected several times and finally got on our way to the migracion and checked out of El Salvador and checked into Honduras for $3 each. I had already booked liability insurance for the C4 countries with Todos Riegos out of Guatemala. We spent almost three hours at the border. I was able to change the rest of my Guatemalan quetzals to US dollar with a truck driver who drove all through Central America. He had lived in LA for several years. He gave me some route advice for Nicaragua Honduras border. He said to watch out for the police check points looking for reasons to get money from me.
Honduras roads were great and it was an easy drive to Choluteca. We could make the Nicaragua border within 2 hours but it was too late to process through so we decided to stay at a mall. Dd was really interested in spending some money he earned. Christine had some pupusas for late lunch early dinner.
We spent six hours at the mall, finding a toy for Dd and had dinner at a Japanese restaurant for $50. I spoke with security to let them know we would be parked over night. They seemed used to it and asked if we were headed north or south. It rained buckets while we were in the mall which cooled off the RV. Nicaragua tomorrow.
