Cartagena day 3: mall day
While Christine and the kids homeschooled I went to the shipping agent in Cartagena, Ana Rodriguez, to notarize a letter giving her permission to get the RV from the shipper. We passed through a market area by the water with loads of fishing boats pulled up and nets on the ground and hungry pelicans waiting for scraps. The ship was now not scheduled to arrive for two more days, and we would get the RV at the earliest by Saturday or maybe Monday. I would need to extend our stay at the Airbnb accordingly. At the agents office I met a Colombian who was shipping to Veracruz, Mexico in the next few days to continue his Panamerican trip. He and his family were in ushuaia back in 2019. He had an indefinite timeline but his daughter was graduating from University of Colorado in Boulder in May so he wanted to be at the graduation.
I ubered back to the Airbnb and we walked along the beach but the kids didn't want to play there. We went to go to the pool but it was closed for maintenance today.
We went to the mall in the afternoon and did some grocery shopping and the kids wanted to eat at the food court. They chose Sbarro and finished their pizza. Christine had a country platter of beans, rice, plantains, and chicharone. The food was meh. The kids and wife had gelato. I ate only a little of the scraps. The kids played in a indoor playground and we ubered back to the Airbnb. All in all a relaxing day. It has not been too hot surprisingly.
