Cartagena day 6: Getsemani

For breakfast I went out to a street corner a block away and found some arepa carts and bought some deep fried breads and a coffee and brought them back. The total was less than $4. There was arepa rellanos with an egg and potato and meat, cheese and meats and bread with cheese. It was crunchy and filling.
In the afternoon we went to the Getsemani district for some chocolate with cheese. It is mostly a Bogota drink, but it is hot chocolate that you melt mozzarella cheese into. It was not as bad as it sounded we also had a chocolate malt ($10.35).We walked to the municipal park along the water and watched the sunset. An American family offered to take our photo and they had three kids and our kids ended up playing together for the next two hours. We ended up eating dinner from the food trucks there. Lauren and Richie were from Boston and were taking a year to live in Costa Rica but this week storms cause a lot of flooding and school was cancelled so they flew to Cartagena for a few days.
We the kids had pizza and Christine had a sushi roll ($25).
We exchanged contact information and went to the walled city to get some more arepas at Fritos la Mona, a fresh fry stand. We had a three areas for $3. It was much better hot. Ellie and Dd bought some bracelets at a square before we headed home.
I received a message from the shipping agent that now the ship is to arrive on Wednesday. This could go on for weeks.
