Panama Canal Miraflores locks

After breakfast and homeschool we took an Uber to the Miraflores locks vistor center ($45). There were a couple covered elevated areas with seating to watch the boats come in at rise or lower depending on if they are heading east or west. We made to see a couple ships head east. There is a newer set of locks finished in 2016 which allow wider newer ships to pass through. The canal generated almost $5B in revenue last year 40% of which goes to the Panamanian government, making it the wealthiest country in central America. The ticket includes an Imax 3D Morgan Freeman narrated movie about the canal. It was all fascinating. We had an hour before the movie so we had some concessions: popcorn, pizza, and a pizza ($45).
After the canal we went back to the Airbnb for some pool and sauna time. It wasn't hot outside and the wind had been howling through the window seals all night. The kids alternated between the cold Jacuzzi and the sauna.
All day I was waiting for the keys to the RV to be delivered. They were supposed to go with the ship but instead the agent had them in Colon last night and had hire someone to drive the keys to our Airbnb. Finally at 540p they were dropped off at the front desk and we went to get some dinner. The kids wanted to go back to Don Lee for some dumplings so that's what we did. I also ordered some tofu and some roasted pork and a rice/pineapple drink ($30). We bought some desserts to celebrate Christine's mother's birthday. Tomorrow we fly to Cartagena.
