San Blas day 2: Narasgandub Dummat

We motored and sailed the jib a couple hours east to Narasgandub Dummad, a small island. There are quite a few reefs and the captain expertly tacked us through the slits. The water we were in was a little deep for the kids and Dd didn't want to take the kayak to the beach, only the dinghy. We left Dd on the boat and paddled around. Ellie wanted to follow her mother and we ended back at the boat and Christine had to console an upset Dd. I paddled to the beach and snorkeled around there was a deeper trench here. I darest not go deeper and went back to Swala. We had a lunch of ceviche and lentil salad which Dd had a few bites of and ate part of the croissant from the coffee shop at the Marriott a couple days ago. Ellie tried a bite of ceviche and ate some of the lentils. We also had a plate of sashimi.
After lunch we convinced Dd to get on the kayak to go to the island. Dd and Christine saw a shark swim by them on the shore. The captain took us to a small shack where the locals were selling some mola, embroidery. There was another sailboat crew there and they had a member who climbed up the palm trees and cut open the coconut for us and then peeled off the shell and gave us the white of the coconut as a ball. Christine and Ellie bought a mat and a bracelet but we didn't have any money so we went back to Swala and I got the money ($27) and kayaked back to pay the artisans. Afternoon tea was fruit salad and a brownie. We got to shower off the back deck by dunking in the seawater to get wet and rinsed in the seawater and a brief finally rinse with fresh water.
We felt less sticky for a little while. The wind picked up and the no-see-ums stopped biting. The stars came out and we had pork chop and mustard cream sauce and mashed potatoes for dinner. Dd hardly ate any and finished the rest of the croissant. Leftovers go into the water. They have starlink on board. Everyone seems to have it. It does drain the batteries and they run the engine for a couple hours in the evening to top up the batteries.
