San Blas day 4: Ucubsuabit to Yansailadub

Beautiful sunrise this morning. We had a nice breakfast of Guna coconut bread rolls and the offering of a French omelette which was delicious.
We sailed to an island next to Isla Ucubsuabit. A barn sparrow stopped on the boat to rest and Dd was able to pet it. It flew into the kitchen and Barti tried to feed it water and bread crumbs. Eventually it left. We kayaked and snorkeled and explored part of the beach there. The kids discovered a bunch of tiny hermit crabs living in the crevices under a palm tree and started collecting them. Another shark swam by and swam away. Some fisherman came to shore with their catch: octopus, lobster, and conch. To release the conch, they poke a hole at the base with another conch shell.
We were called back for lunch which was octopus with ink risotto. It was delicious. The kids had leftover pasta and some pork chop. The pork chop is a bit tough so they couldn't chew it.
Our captain took a siesta. Barti took us to a natural swimming pool, a shallow reef with only sand.
After, we motored west for a couple hours to get to Yansailadub for sunset. We got into the dinghy to go to the island but I dropped the action camera and snorkeled but it was too dark to see the camera.
It cost $3 per adult on the island. There are three over water bungalows and a few hotel rooms and a dormitory. There were guests there. It is a clean island. Christine and Ellie played volleyball with a basketball with a local girl.
We headed back to Swala and the skies were clear and stars came out. Pad Thai for dinner. Kids ate almost all. A game of telephone at the table. Tomorrow afternoon we head back to Panama city.
