Galapagos San Cristobal day 2

Dd slept 12 hours before we woke him. We walked to the San Cristobal interpretation center which was next to Mann beach where we watched sunset last night. We first stopped for takeout food at a place and we ordered a bolon, a ball of plantain and cheese with some meat and egg and a plate of tostones and cheese. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food, but we had a glass of tree tomato which was a little citrusy.
At the interpretation center I figured out that water supply is somewhat leaking on the Galapagos islands and probably kept it from being permanently inhabited by humans. San cristobal has a 2200 ft crater lake which gets some rainfall but not all the islands are so lucky.
After the interpretation center we walked to Playa Punta Carola where there were a lot sea lions. We also saw marine iguana, sea turtles, and more blue footed boobies. Christine and I were able to swim with sea turtles and sea lions. The kids just played on the sand. We were there for a few hours before catching a taxi back to the Airbnb.
We had some lunch of ramen noodles and did more homeschool before meeting up with our friends we met in Cartagena last month. They had just landed and were headed out to the malecon.
The kids happily picked up where they left off and Dd played with Julien, their son.
We watched sea lions on the beach and the kids played in the playground and when we walked to the small cove, Thalia and Mara swam in the ocean with the sea lions.
We walked to Mann beach to watch the sunset and it was opened today and after sunset they closed to the beach to let the sea lions take over. We walked to get some food and decided to sit at Unami, a restaurant facing the playground. The kids had shrimp tempura and didn't eat much of their fish and chips. Christine had a poke plate. The bill came to $54 with tip. At one point Thalia, the five year old fell from 10 ft up, to the sand but fortunately she seemed okay other than being shaken up and maybe bruising her hip. She cheered up after a few minutes and ate all her food. She did have a limp walking around but time will tell if she has a fracture. She was very lucky. We headed back to our hotel after stopping for some children's Tylenol for her. We made some loose plans to meet up tomorrow, depending on how she is doing.
The kids were so excited to play together it was nice to see them again.
