Ruta de los cascadas
We had a nice and quiet night camping at the parking lot. We started the morning with a hike down to Machay fall. It is an impressive falls and the hike up was steep. We had a ten minute drive to the next waterfall El Pailon de Diablo. It was an even more impressive waterfall.
From there we had 30 minute drive to Banos, a town known for hot springs. We were going there to do some laundry.
The kids did some homeschool and we walked around the town and went to get some boba but instead bought some slushies for $2 each, more than a set meal in town.
We headed out of town toward Cuenca, but I wanted to avoid steep mountain roads recommended by Google maps. We didn't get very far with the steep mountain climbing. We made it to Guatepe where I filled up our water tanks at a gas station. We parked in the city plaza by the church and the kids rode their scooters around while Christine made dinner. A couple kids came up and spoke with us and they tried out Ellie's scooter. It will be cold again tonight which is nice since we had to run the AC last night and today during the day. Low will be 43F.
