Chile!

Dd lost his fourth tooth last night and the tooth fairy visited him and gave him some Peruvian soles. We ate popcorn last night knowing the Chilean customs would confiscate it.
In the morning I printed out the PDFs for the border and headed out.
Propane fill up at gas stations for propane-fueled vehicles is plentiful, so even though we still had 2/3 tank full on the monitor, I went to the GLP station to top up. The Peruvian adapter was different so I used the pol adapter set I had brought along to fit the Peruvian adapter.
The border was only 45 minutes away and both Peruvian and Chilean immigration and customs were at the same area. This was one of the fastest border crossings for us, taking only one hour including the agriculture check. They took our popcorn kernels, lentils, quinoa, and all our fruits and vegetables including garlic.
We entered Chile and lost two hours as they are two hours ahead of Peru. That means the sun will rise at 7 tomorrow and set at 846pm.
We stopped at the town close to the border, Arica, to withdraw Chilean pesos, fill up water, and buy groceries (but not fruits because there is a checkpoint a couple hours south that will confiscate everything again). We ended up being in Arica for two hours, getting lunch (Japanese), filling up purified water from 5 gallon jugs with my pump, and grocery shopping at Chilean Walmart, Lider.
We had a two hour drive to a campsite when we left at almost 6pm. The scenery was spectacular. Massive sand covered gorges and 3600 ft hill climbs and the RV drove great. When the coolant temperature rose I turned on the heater on full and the coolant cooled down.
We camped a couple miles off the pan American highway at the ruins of the battle of Dolores (1879) from the Great Pacific War between Bolivian and Peru against Chile. Chile won. This area was once Peru.
We had leftovers for dinner.
Chile has great roads and less trash than Peru outside of towns. It is one of the wealthiest countries in South America and the infrastructure at Arica shows. It also is not cheap and a visit to Dunkin donuts for two donuts cost $4.
