Flying to Buenos Aires
We didn't drive but I googlemaps doesn't have a fly option.
It wasn't too cold last night and we got up and packed up our luggage for our trip. My parents were flying to Buenos Aires to join us on the Antarctica cruise on Saturday and the tour started in Buenos Aires and included hotel and charter flight. My parents had been to Argentina before and had been ripped off by airport taxis so they were not too excited about arriving and taking a taxi on their own.
We went to dump our waste water and then drove to a private house on iOverlander listed as a place to store our van. Two weeks for $100 seemed like a good deal compared to other places. It was a bit tight pulling in and would be equally terrible leaving. We left some of our luggage here since we would be back in three days to board the ship. We ubered to the airport and hung out at the priority pass lounge until boarding time. The lounge was small and we were lucky to get in.
The flight was three hours long and Dd and I slept. We left Ushuaia at 55 F and arrived in Buenos Aires at 88 F.
We took the Uber to our Airbnb and dropped off our luggage and went to find some food. It was 7pm and the Chinatown had a pedestrian alley under the elevated metro and we had some donburi and tonkatasu and the kids had dumplings and baos. The food was just average and it came to almost $70.We went to buy groceries on the way home. The neighborhood is nice and has coffee shops everywhere and only a few restaurants are busy after 9pm. This place has laundry machines but no dryers and uses coins but unknown number and I have not seen any coins in Argentina. Very strange.
