Patagonia

We had a restful sleep at the gas station with the other campers. We had not camped at a gas station since we left Nico and Pauline in Peru. The bathroom cleaners told me I couldn't dump the cassette so we continued south. We saw guanacos (in the llama family) and flightless Rhea (small ostrich) and Patagonian cavys (large rabbit-like rodent). Seventeen years ago while working night shifts in Florida I came up on a blog of a couple that road their motorcycles around the world. We passed each other going in opposite directions today and I texted them on Whatsapp. We chatted online and knew some of the same people in the motorcycle and travel world. What fun.
We found water at a YPF gas station four hours away and had lunch in the parking lot next to a small unimog.
We drove another hour south and parked by the beach. The temperature was cold in the 60's but we wouldn't be using AC.
The kids played in the pebble beach and we made dinner. Beautiful sunset. There were whales here six weeks ago but we didn't see any tonight.
