Patagonia

It was so cold last night and I had to rearrange the blankets to make them double layered to stay warm. 46F
The morning was beautiful and clear when we headed out to continue route 3 south. We continued to see Rhea and guanacos and even saw a fox feeding on the remains of a large cavy. We saw guancos galloping along side the road and leap over a fence only to get a leg hooked and flip over. The kids started crying thinking it was dead and we did a u turn to see if we could cut the fence wire to free it but when we came back it was already off the fence. Maybe the fence isn't barbed.
We filled up gas at dumped at a YPF gas station and met some Argentinians heading north from Ushuaia. They said there were still a lot of vans and tourists down there.
We stopped at a town near a river and let the kid play in a playground. Christine met an American Mennonite that moved down to Argentina when he was still a baby.
We parked next to some murals by the river and let the kids play. Dd stepped on something and had some blood on his heel. The wound did not look serious but he was unhappy. These Patagonian roads are long.
