Carretera Austral day 5 to Villa Amengual

We did homeschool this morning before setting off.We left the steep glaciated mountains behind and entered hay fields and pasture lands before arriving at Coyhaique, the largest city on the Carretera. Tonight's low was going to be 20F where we camped last night and we were glad to be moving north. We tried to dump our waste at the water treatment plant in town but there was road construction which made the approach difficult so we went to fill up gas and water then went to get groceries and then went to a playground. Three hours later we left town as it started drizzling and headed north in search of a campground. Limestone cliffs surrounded us in the rain. Ruta 7 turned into a dirt road again but it turns out we should have taken a paved longer way. We continued north and found a quiet town square and parked for the night as it continued to rain. We are nearing the end of the Carretera Austral and have only a few days left.
