Circuito Chico

Time to check out today and fortunately all the laundry dried. We loaded up the RV and filled fresh water there and headed over to the cable car to go to the top of the mountain. Actually Christine wanted to go to the cable car to go to an alpine luge course but I didn't know there was more than one cable car in town. It was $60 for the two adults and the kids were free. The views were great and it ended up being a great way to spend a few hours. There was a maze there and panoramic view point and one of those spinning restaurants. We ended up having lunch at the restaurant. We had a plate of charcuterie and cheese and chips and smoked trout dip.
We headed back down the RV and went to drive a little circuit just west of town. The views were great but Christine pointed out that the views on the Carretera Austral were better. We stopped at Colonia Suiza, village where the first European settled in the area, mostly Swiss, as it turns out. It is just a tourist place now and a lot of tiny stores selling the same stuff. They cook meats under heated stones and cloth like they do in Polynesia. We didn't have any. The falls colors were gorgeous.
We went back to town and parked at a free parking area next to the rocky beach next to Dan and Jocelyn whom we camped with in Ushuaia a month ago. They had just flown in from Iguazu falls where we were headed. They had a week left before flying out of Santiago and headed to Costa Rica.
The kids played together and I had to fix the shower door track that was splitting.
We had pasta and leftovers for dinner and took an Uber to town to get some ice cream since we didn't have any yet. We ended up buying a half pound of pistaccino, a mix of pistachio with crema Americano which is a flavor unique to Latin America.
We walked back to the beach stopping at an awesome skate park and played on the playground equipment along the way.
