Ferry day 1
The ferry set off an hour before dawn at 7am and we happily stayed in bed until the sunrise. We peeked out our windows and saw people lining up for breakfast and I joined them and returned with four sandwiches and some apples and oranges and mini muffins. I cooked up the sandwiches in the sandwich maker that we use for quesadillas. As we entered a strait we all went up top to watch the views and saw sea lions swimming close by and cormorants. There were glacier peaks in the distance and the wind was brisk.
The kids found the children room that the workers unlocked for us and they spent the rest of the day there. They even did homeschool there.
Lunch was served and it was lentils and soup. It was delicious. I worked on my taxes and periodically went up to top to watch the view. It was a shame to be one the computer with such gorgeous scenery around.
I was able to dump the cassette and we took showers. We didn't shower yesterday to conserve water. We have another 24h+ on board. Fortunately we have had great weather and the ride has been smooth.
