Project Lontra

In the morning we got the kids up early to go to the Otter rescue center we had parked next to last night. They were open from 8am to 10am and then opened at 4pm again. They rehabilitated otters, ferrets, and tayra. They were super cute and fun to watch play and it reminded me of the two ferrets I had in residency.
From there we headed back to the mainland and tried to go to a beach but there wasn't any good parking so we went back to the highway and stopped at a buffet at a gas station truck stop. It was $8/person and $4/child. There was some various meats and salads and better than our first experience last week. I was able to dump and fill cassette and water there too and filled up gas.
We continued down to the beach at Gamboa and the kids played for over an hour. We had great parking since it was low season. We headed off to find camping and ended up parked at a beach access lot with a shower and faucet. The campground we had considered was closed. There was a collarless but clean dog that came over and played with us and the kids for an hour and we fed it chicharrone. It will be 51F tonight! Two nights ago the low was only 72F.
