Porto Alegre to Rio Grande

Another early wake up with the marathoners arriving before 5am. The music started around 7am. I went out with the kids to see the expo stands and the kids got free balloons. We went to look for some random things but most of the stores didn't open until 2pm. We bought some more Nutella and then exited. Our license plate doesn't register on their system so they let us pass through the gate without having to pay for the two nights of parking.
There was predictably a lot of traffic leaving the city. We cross the bridge and headed southwest. We stopped after a couple hours to dump the water and fill fresh water at a gas station.
There was a 15 minute blockade.
We continued on the next two hours to make it to the coast. We stopped at a Havan, a large store similar to Ross or Marshall's, sometimes with a statue of Liberty in the front. They allow overnight camping in their parking lots like Walmart in the US. We went inside and the kids got a couple shirts. The prices are pretty good. The kids rode their scooters and Healys around and we made fondue. A worker came around later to get our phone number and name and said it was no problem to park overnight. He suggested parking near the front for the security cameras. Dd saw a scorpion on the ground about an inch long.
