Praia Grande
We had a good night sleeping for free and we were waiting for confirmation for an excursion in Praia Grande. Once we got the confirmation we headed off. We stopped for gray water and cassette dump at a bus stop rest area. We decided to stop for lunch there too. It was $18/kg of food. Ours came to $22 including drinks. The big selling point was the kids play area of course.
I asked to fill up our water tank and they allowed it. I fed a gas station dog a bit of chicharrone. We hit the road for the last 30 min to Praia Grande and went to the hot air balloon place. We still had an hour and a half until it was time to go so I went to the hardware store next door and picked up a water hose adapter for 1/2" pipe to a garden hose quick connect. I was also looking for some brackets and was sent to another hardware store half a mile away. They had the brackets I needed and they made a 1" to 3/4 inch adapter with some PVC connectors.
We headed to the hanger and they drove us to the hot air balloon launch site. The weather was overcast but we were the only ones going. Most of their rides are in the morning at sunrise but that requires a meet up at 430 and that would be impossible so we asked for a sunset ride. The ride was fantastic and it wasn't too cold and no one needed the extra jackets we brought. We were done after sunset and the ride lasted an hour.
We went back to the hanger and tipped $20 and went to find food. Mondays means many places are closed in Brazil. We found the town square and the kids played there. We are at a gastro pub and had some fried shrimp, lamb, and picahna steak. It came to $70. We decided to park next to the church for the night. The kids played in the square for another 30 minutes before we had to get showered and ready for the night.
